Another newb dropping in ...
« on: January 04, 2011, 04:36:24 PM »
Well gents,
I've been lurking for the past couple weeks and I think you guys have a great forum here.
It's been far, far too long since I strung my bow and headed off into the woods. So long in fact that I find it hard to call myself an archer  :bash:
Anyway, I've been into traditional gear, hunting and 3d shoots in the past and it's high time to get back to where I left off. I shoot a 55# Howatt Hunter and I'm dying to start pulling the thing again... 3-4 more weeks while a pair of ribs heal and I can begin.
In the mean time, I'll keep poking through the site and try not to be a PITA

Welcome here is a list of archery clubs and shops across the state... So you can find you way to one of the many 3D shoots coming up
http://www.washingtonarchery.org/clubs-shops.html
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Welcome.
There are a lot of knowlegeable folks on here. Seems like most of the archers are compound, but a few of the trad guys pipe up ocassionally. Always good to check in and see whats going on.

Special T, Quadrafire
Thank you both for the welcome. The clubs/shops list will be an immediate help!
I was reading through a thread re: 3d shoots and the difference between comp and trad shooters... looks like nothing has changed there  :chuckle: . That said, I have nothing against 'em ... might even buy one

dscott dont worry about being a pita we all are at one time or another   :)  Welcome to the site The more you contribute and post the more you will receive guidance and tips. This is a great place.

I WILL contribute ... in a worthwhile fashion? Well, I'll do my best :)

Ratdog,
I just read through your bow building thread on AT. Very, very nice! Nice enough to make me pull out my Trad-Bibles and ... well, we'll see :)
