Great Buck! I would love to have gotten my tag on that one.......Also, I think the story is kind of cool! Who ever hit it with their car should at least get a back strap out of it!!!  :lol4:

On a side note.....talked to a gamie that is a buddy of mine today and he informed me that if it is legal hunting season...and you have a tag for said season....and you come upon road kill....and said animal would be legal to harvest during said season you have a tag for.....you may indeed tag said animal!!

PS.....does anyone have a spare rail road tie and some bailing wire I could borrow?!?!?!  :yike:

   Dumb laws of Washington State

compiled by Dixie A. Walter

Here are some of the dim-witted laws of our otherwise bright state:

Forget about buying a TV on Sunday in Spokane. It's illegal. Buying any kind of meat on Sunday in Washington is also against the law as is purchasing a mattress.

This is a tricky one. A man may be looking at five years of jail time for "deflowering" a virgin. This is against the law regardless of the woman's age or marital status. Think about it.

It is against the law to paint polka dots on Old Glory.

All lollipops are forbidden.

If you are driving a motorized vehicle toward a town or city and have "criminal intentions" it is "mandatory" that you stop before entering the city limits and telephone the chief of police.

It's illegal to pretend that your parents are wealthy.

One of my favorites is so nonsensical I would like to know the inner workings of the minds that came up with this. When two trains come to a crossing, neither can go until the other has passed.

In Bremerton you can't "shuck" peanuts on the street.

If you live in Everett don't plan to put a hypnotized person, or even a supposedly hypnotized person, in a store window.

In Lynden you cannot dance and drink in the same establishment.

In Seattle you can get in trouble with the law if you carry a concealed weapon over six feet long.

And when riding a bus, women cannot sit on men's laps without a pillow between them.

No one can set fire to another person's property without asking permission.

You are breaking the law in this state if you drive while asleep.

It is illegal to gather and "consume" road kill.

At night a man with a lantern must go about 100 yards ahead of a "motor car."

A law in Vancouver requires all "motor vehicles" to carry an anchor to be used as the emergency brake.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So who is the judge of equines in Wilbur where it's against the law to ride an "ugly" horse?

Think these laws are odd, ludicrous and outdated? Ordinance Number 7, passed June 7, 1995 in San Juan County states that eight women may not reside in the same house because doing so would "constitute a brothel." It must not be a college county.
 :dunno:
Must be the buddy system.

I'm sure that all the "Holier than thou" guys that have posted never go over 60 mph in a 60 mph zone and never talk on their cell phones while driving and so on and so on. And if you look back on some of their post's about wolves they would NEVER SSS when it comes to shooting a wolf if they saw one either. And no, I'm not a wolf lover. I HATE THEM!! Wolves that is. They just pick the laws that they choose to break. That's just the plain truth.

I hit a full size cow back in 07 4 days before Archery season with my Samurai.  Killed it dead and I drove my sami home after some prying.  The Stater told me I could have tagged it if it would have been during the season.  Made this little icon for my avatar once you can kinda see some of the damage

Assume that's directed at me. Why so upset with folks analysis of what little facts were presented, when you opened with "don't know the story behind it"? If you can't discuss/ debate like an adult, your going to be really disappointed in life. All we know at this point really is it is a pic of a big deer. I will speak up whenever there is a misrepresentation of laws, many folks on here will do that, it's hardly an exclusive group. If someone can show me one written code contradicting what I have cited, I would accept it, but then again that would take an adult discussion with some intelligence, not just "my buddy said this, so I believe it" >:(.

Couple comments made above I'm not sure who they are directed at, should clarify I have no opinion on wolves on private property, I don't live in wolf Country (no idea what that is about).

Since the buck was killed near my backyard I think its time to comment....
Law or no law I would have put the animal down...bragged about the size... but I wouldn't have tagged the animal or tried to get it scored and booked... all would be against rules of fair chase.

Sides that... I heard it was 28" wide... nice buck

My post was not directed at any one person in particular Dman. It was meant to point out the hipocricy of more than one (many more) that post on the site.
My comment on wolves was just that. Many have stated that they would shoot a wolf on sight and just SSS. Such actions would be breaking game laws. Yet they are quick to jump on anybody else that they percieve to be breaking any other game laws.
I really am glad that Bone made the post in "General Disscussion" that he posted. Hopefully it will put a damper on some of the bullying and nit picking that has in my opinion gotten a bit out of hand.
I'll be right up front and tell all that if I do see a wolf or wolves, I will shoot every one that I can. I don't want or have no intention of hijacking this thread with talk about wolves but you asked what the wolf comment was about and I am just answering your inquiry about said comment.

My post was directed at you Dman.  I shouldn't have said anything and just let it go, but your comments on this thread really blew me away.  I couldn't believe the stuff you were reading into the story.  You were just assuming the guy broke laws when the story that was told should not have lead anyone to that conclusion.

I had posted a comment earlier in this thread where I was a little harsh in my comment and I immediately deleted it.  Maybe you saw it......I hope not.

The discussion about finishing off an injured animal can be a good discussion and probably is a valuable discussion to have on this site, but it seems like a separate thread could have been created to discuss the issues related to that.  I'll try not to post right away after reading something that gets to me so as not to insert foot in mouth...... :)
