Yeah there's no categories....it's net score and thats it. So are you saying that your 134" buck is the #2 blacktail in the B/C books?

Nope (see my 12:47pm reply).  Not sure what the largest is...I'd guess pushing 200.

I have seen plenty of bigger 3 points that are bigger than that, the book states total points on a side so if your only looking at 3x3 you may be looking at 2 points with eyeguards, some of the 4x4's in the book are 3 points with eyeguards. Something to think about.

Not trying to take away from your buck though. I know of an Oregon Blacktail that was a 3 point that netted I think 170. Its in the book.

Wow, 170 for a 3 is huge!!  Other things to consider are species of blacktail (columbia/western/sitka..also there are the BT-Muley cross breeds <not sure what/how they classify those>) and state specific records. Mabye this buck was 2nd B/C Washington only (again it was not my buck). You should post a pic of that 170 if you have it.  :-)

My 3x3 blacktail is in the book as a 4x5, due to double eyeguards on one side, and single on the other.
Step once, look twice...

Nice 3x3 yourself BLR 243!  You should get that registered if you can still do so. I'd guess 132 6/8 net should be right up there in top 5 considering 134 net was #2.  Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but it is my understanding B&C does not have a "category"for 3x3. However, the points are listed along with the scores and 134 is now the second largest the 3x3 in the books.

Correct, the score is the score and it will place relative to other deer, regardless of scorable antler points.  If all the other bucks that score higher have more than 3 scorable points per side, then you could claim a buck is #__ as a 3x3, or the highest scoring 3x3 entered in the book, recording period, etc.

Personally, the score means little when you're talking mature blacktails. They are hard to come by and all hold a special place in the hearts of hunters lucky and/or skilled enough to harvest them.  :twocents:
