is it a no shooting zone or firearm restriction zone
Quote from: Quarteredaway on November 04, 2010, 10:00:28 AMis it a no shooting zone or firearm restriction zone There are no such things as WDFW No Shooting Zones. Shooting areas/zones are made by counties, some counties allow you to shoot firearms while hunting, some don't, and some only allow certain firearms. You need to elaborate on what your "no shooting zone" is.

You need to elaborate on what your "no shooting zone" is. each ordinance is different. some allow only shotguns with shot (clallam county for example) and only when hunting. sometimes there are exceptions based on the size of the property (greater than 10 acres for example). you've got to be VERY careful and a quick call to your county sheriff may be the quickest way to find out.
packwoodcoug probably just wants to know if it is legal to kill an elk with a bow if he has a modern firearm tag. The answer to that question is YES.
It's funny, you can use a bow to shoot an elk during modern firearm, but you can't use a muzzleloader. That was the answer I was given last year by WDFW. I believe city ordinances will be the deciding factor whether you can shoot a bow or not.
that is correct but in packwood that could get sticky . check the the local laws.

Yes, you can use a muzzleloader during modern firearm season, provided you hold a modern firearm tag for that area. You can even use a scoped muzzy in mod. season.
