It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

This post is funny, I say go for it, lots of good meat for your freezer and a nice rack, I agree with doublelung, potential trouble when the rut kicks in.

You could always film it and claim you were out on public land somewhere like Troy Gentry did with that tame black bear he shot.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

i would hate to see a kid or anyone get hurt. the rut can make them crazy and they can indeed hurt someone.it would be meat for the freezer, a tag filled and maybe a potential problem soloved.

killing a community pet can cause some friction with neighbors.I would consider that.If I thought it was cool,Dead pet walking..Freezer first...The deer would mean nothing more to me than meat in the freezer, not a hunt or a trophy

I have only seen 1 post mention it--  THERE ARE NO PET DEER

Just because he wanders on your property or others and you or others interfere with the natural feeding habits of said wild deer, doesn't make him a pet.

legal hunting season + written permission on property + legal deer + legal weapon= legally killed deer.

NO FAMILY PETS WILL BE HARMED IN THIS PROCESS

you could always just leave him there and get a Nerf bow with foam arrows for off season practice  :chuckle:  if you do take him i would just suggest that you be sure its out of view of the children that feed him, unless they have been taught to understand hunting.

He lives on Orcas island and he's borderline tame...... 6x5 good mass...  Family member who's a non hunter offered him up.... :dunno:

first it isn't murder and second he is not a pet.

should you slaughter a human habituated deer sure if you want the meat for the freezer ;) and try and do it in a manner that doesn't traumatize too many kids
