So....you gonna videotape it like Troy Gentry did when he "hunted" a tame bear?  I seem to remember that most members were in an uproar over that incident.  Pretty lame if you kill it and I'm surprised how many people advocate killing this deer KNOWING that it's pretty tame.  Hell, just walk up to it with an apple in one hand and a knife in the other and slice his throat.  He'll look good on hanging on your wall and you can tell all your buddies about your great accomplishment.  You guys call this hunting????

He never called it hunting. he just asked if he should kill it.
Think of it as harvesting meat.
If he does, and wants to tell a tale of it, well so be it. His decision.
It's not true that I am good for nothing---I can be used as a bad example!!

Troy Gentry lied about it and I'm sure he didn't do it for the meat.

You sound just like a PETA member to me. Do you every buy meat in a grocery store? Do you call that hunting?

Yep, sometimes there is a time for making meat and then there is hunting.

He lives on Orcas island and he's borderline tame...... 6x5 good mass...  Family member who's a non hunter offered him up.... :dunno:

Let him be. It would be like the Texans shooting deer in fenced in areas.

An acclimated dominant buck deer in the rut can be extremely dangerous  :bdid:- in particular to children used to approaching and feeding him.  Dirt nap ASAP.

This is getting a little too PC on both sides for me guys.  I believe both sides are right about a lot of different points.

Eh never mind, he's fair game.  Even a "tame" wild animal isnt a domestic animal.  He's wild.   Dinner time.   Here deer deer deer deer.

He asked for opinions, I gave mine.  Take it for what it's worth!  Yes I buy meat in a grocery store, and no I do not call that hunting, and when I do HUNT, I don't intentionally kill tame animals.  Doesn't make me a PETA member either just because I don't think it's right to kill a tame deer.  I bet he's not doing it for the meat, he's doing it for the headgear (since he mentioned the 6x5 big mass) - big difference.  If he didn't have reservations about killing the deer, he probably wouldn't have posted the question and would have just gone out and done it.  BTW, I've sent hundreds of meat goats to the slaughterhouse; I don't believe a PETA member would be caught dead doing that, so take your name calling and stuff it.

At least he didn't whack it first and come on here trying to pass it off as a real hunt.  :IBCOOL:

IMHO this situation is no more of a hunt than me walking up to my cat and shooting it in the back of the head.  LOL

It's  kind of funny to me that people seek validation or emotional support from complete strangers on the internet.  One good thing about the internet, it seems great for catching poachers though.

Taking him before he dies of old age (hit by a car etc) has its merits..may as well take him at some point before he feeds bugs and crows.

At the same time, if local kids are used to feeding him... :dunno:    I wouldn't want to be they guy known for killing him..
