Should I murder a pet deer?

I say do what you want! It is solely your choice. Me personally, I'd whack him in a heart beat. First off, as said before, there is no tame deer. Second, why risk someone killing him via car. Thirdly, its meat in the freezer. Lastly, he's been around long enough that his seed has been spread and maybe big boy II is on his way up for next year...

he has past on his seed and many more will benifit from his life.  he is a wild deer not a pet who lives around people and eats all their plants and apples.  2 quick shots with a .22 cal to the head and he will drop like a sack of rocks and not know what hit him.  post a piture, enjoy the backstraps and not gloat over the kill.

There was a pet deer here in Curlew about 6-7 years ago. It would wonder around town. Well one day it reared ona kid.
WDFW shot it. So, you might do Orcas Islanders a favor, shoot it.

LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH FOR ISLAND DEER = OLD AGE.  We should all help put a stop to this atrocity(SP?)!!!!! The right thing to do is kill that buck before he dies of old age!  Do what's right for the deer's sake please or atleast let someone else do it!  I like the idea of a disabled hunt!  I don't agree with letting a kid shoot it though.

He lives on Orcas island and he's borderline tame...... 6x5 good mass...  Family member who's a non hunter offered him up....

If you want the meat I say yes......but if you want the hunt, I say no.

I used to live up on Orcas back in the mid 80s. I worked for a woman by the name of Dorthy. I cannot remember her last name. She was about 70 at the time. She had a bunch of big bucks running around her place as well as a ton of peacocks. One buck was HUGE and would come up to the living room window and look in. Scared the crap outta me the first time he did it.

We have elk in our yard all the time and I am often asked why I don't shoot one. Though they do sometimes piss me off because they eat all the flowers and such, I just don't see the need to shoot one. I hunt for the challenge, for the excuse to get away from the phone, the computer, the traffic. I hunt as an escape from reality so to speak. Sitting on my back porch and sticking one with my bow just doesn't really do it for me. I have nothing against people that do because that is their prerogative but its not for me. If I were really hard up for money and really needed the meat it would be different but luckily I am not.

Its not really a pet if it doesn't have a name. It may be habituated to human contact, but so are a lot of other animals we kill and eat. If he doesn't have a name, I say go for it.

just one whack with a ballpeen hammer (zero ruined meat that way) should do..... tell the kids he went to go live on another island... if the kids really miss him.... stuff the whole deer and use it as a hat/coat rack...
