An acclimated dominant buck deer in the rut can be extremely dangerous  :bdid:- in particular to children used to approaching and feeding him.  Dirt nap ASAP.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Take his collar off first.  That makes it a wild animal again.

Anyone know if Orcas is firearm restricted?

Do it from 400 yards with a 6 pound slug gun......for the challenge.

wait for him to drop his antlers then put them on a plaque.  Wouldn't blame you if you end up shooting him though, I just wouldn't brag about it too much but a blacktail that nice deserves to be on the wall.

As a disabled hunter that has not filled his tag yet, I would be more than willing to come out and relocate your deer to my freezer

I wouldn't but wouldn't judge someone for doing it unless of course it's thought of as some big accomplishment which it isn't. It's cool to have a big backyard buddy buck. To each his own. I saw a hog Whity on the So. Hill in Spokane today. Hope to see him more when they start getting a little more "rutty"

 :yeah:

Firearms restricted area. Also need written permission from the property owner. Also need to be out of the town limits.

If you can meet that criteria, take your nice Blacktail with pistol at distance of the limits of your gun and shooting ability. Be just as proud of a bow kill. Make a clean kill and safe shot. Enjoy some chops!

I like the idea of letting a disabled hunter take him. Not so great for youth, because it does not abide by fare chase and the elements of a well deserved hunt in an 'untamed' environment.  Or just shoot him yourself ensuring that you've challenged yourself. -all knowing that you might as well do it before he dies of old age or gets hit by a car.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PET DEER.
