Unit 356- Bumping, anyone have any luck?
« on: November 05, 2010, 07:31:20 PM »
I just got home from a week in the Bumping Unit.  I saw a lot more animals this year then I have in the past.  Mostly cows, but a nice bull and a 2 point!  I watched the 2 point for five minutes, hoping he'd break one of his tines off  :'(  A friend of mine filled his cow tag, and another buddy filled his bull tag with a nice 5 point.  Anyone else have any luck in the Bumping?  No elk for me this year, but still an awesome hunt!  Can't wait for next year!

Hey hogsniper I think 400out is confused because of the picture of that buck in the sagebrush when the topic is elk in the High country.  I'm confused to.  Did you post the wrong picture.  In any case that's a really nice buck.

Hey there-
Ya he stayed with us Monday night.  My dad and I tried to find your guys's camp on Sunday.  Bob said we were like 100 feet from it, haha.  Hopefully next year we can meet up!

I got back yesterday myself.  After a week up there my dad and I saw a bunch of cows and 2 big bulls, but no spikes.  :bash:
Where were you guys camped at?  I wonder if I bumped into any of you.

Bob who?  I know a Bob that was hunting the bumping unit.  He works out of Buckley.

coriantonk-  We were camped up at the end of Bumping River Road, by Bumping Lake.  Where were you guys at?

haugenna-  This Bob was hunting the Little Naches, but stayed with us for a night in the Bumping.  Doubt it's the same Bob, he doesn't work in Buckley, sorry.

We were on the other side of the hill from you.  We camped on the 1500 road about 1 1/2 miles from highway 12.  So we probably did not see you guys.  Sure glad to hear that somebody was harvesting.  There were not that many sucessfull camps on our side of the unit.
