3 point blacktail
« on: November 06, 2010, 09:08:24 AM »
Got a small 3 point on October 19... sorry that it took so long to post.  I had been sick for two days prior and I had gotten up at around one in the morning on the 19th for some reason and noticed that the moon was bright so I changed my alarm from 3:30 to 2:30 in the morning and I was going east.  Well I finally woke up at 9:30 in the morning.   >:(  I then decided to hunt closer to home.  Long story short parked at a ridge that I like to hunt moved down about 150 yards and out jumped a big 3 or small 4 and gone.  Played the cat and mouse game for about an hour and decided that the direction he was moving it would be better for me to hop ridges to the more open ridge.  So I took a finger over to the next ridge and began glassing and waiting for movement.  From about 250 yards away I noticed movement down where I thought that buck might come out. I through my binos up and it was a doe and behind her was another deer with it's head down and both were moving pretty good.  The deer in the back was on a trot and it's nose was right on the ground automatically thought buck so I moved up to find a good rest.  As soon as both deer trotted over a nob and ended up taking him with a shot to the neck.  Hope the picture goes through. Not one to share pics but I realize everyone likes pics.
