ok hunt today
« on: November 13, 2010, 03:23:43 PM »
Well sucess to fill my goal in shooting a rare bird has not happened. For all you to know, and the moderator who removed the post(for some unknown reason) I still have not gotten it, nor seen it. The reason I have not said what type of bird it is is because I don't want someone else to go and shoot it, however at this point I would like to see someone get it so, you may find a crested crane on the west side, its the ugandan national symbol, not protected, and according to wdfw, perfectly legal to shoot due to the fact its not a native bird, and they do not and will not ever migrate through here.  Today we went on the search, however had no luck finding it. We did however bag 4 mallards, and a band  :IBCOOL:

Carp probably removed it because I did not. In fact I posted that you shot Big Bird and it was on the way to the taxidermist.

After talking it over with several other mod's it was removed. you had plenty of opportunity's to update the post and simply say you had not got it yet. The post was starting to go south, and started to cause some problems. so it was decided that it would be removed. No hard feeling look forward to seeing what ever it is if you get it.

that has to be a domestic that escaped. mandarin ducks are another one that I think are a pretty duck, but any that you shoot here have got to be escaped domestics. Not quite as exciting to me knowing that, but still a really cool bird. If you get that crane it would be a cool mount  ;)

Yes, it is an escaped domestic, which made it even more legal, if its safe thats good, because all the people I have talked to about it said it will die in the winter if it doesn't have a heat source.
