The Leupold is great for its compact, lightweight package. The Bushnell is heavier, but better optically and has the rainguard which makes a huge difference if it gets wet... which tends to happen a lot in the NW  ;)

The Bushy is three times the scope of the Leupy but some guys gotta have a gold ring.
The Rainguard is a great feature.
Easy choice for me.

I've never seen any Bushnell glass that I like.  However, the Rainguard feature is well worth it for the wet side of Washington and if I could test them in low light side by side I may be persuaded.  I am constantly fighting fogging and I have the VX-ll.  The Bushnell stats and features sound good for the price.

A buddy of mine hunts the coast and loves to hunt in the rain, the nastier the better.  He absolutely loves the 4200.  Rain or fog it stays clear enough to see what he needs to see.

Bushnell has acquired Bausch & Lomb, which means their glass is now second to none.  I am one of those that used to look down my nose at Bushnell, but since putting one on my .17 HMR, I'm sold.  And my Ground Squirrel shooting buddies don't laugh at me for putting a $385 scope on a $180 rifle.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

I have both, unless you want to trick out a scope with turrets and reticles from the custom shop the 4200 is the better buy and optics. it is a bit heavier, but the 4200 is a very tough, clear bright scope with a bulletproof reputation. leupold used to really have the market cornered, but today they are just average scopes that excell because of the amount of mods the custom shop will do to them. if bushy would add turrets and reticles as options.......I would be in love.

I am asking because I don't know;
Does Bushnell now offer the same warranty as Leupold?

I have heard bushy warranty woes by 1 guy, I have never had any dealing with them...I own a few ;) I have been treated good by leupolds warranty division a few times. if you are buying a scope based on warranty you can't beat leupold. I have had free fixes from nikon, leupold, burris, and swarovski swaro was the worst and lupy the best....based on turn times.

I have a Bushy and love it, I have had to call their customer service one time, and it was fantastic. My dumba** left my adjustment caps on the fender of a quad and lost them, when I called to order more, the lady asked for my address and said "we'll just send you some new ones" didn't cost me a dime. I was pretty impressed.

havent owned any new bushnell stuff basically becasue all the stuff i had of theres from a few years ago has went to crap. wont hold waterproof, customer service is the worst ive ever delt with, and i get a headache just thinking about looking through one my bushnell scopes. get a leupold, top of the line, not to spendy. only had one break after i droped it.. sent it into leupold and since they coukdent fix it they just sent me a new one. if u need costomer service like i did its a lifetime warrenty and the person on the phone with you actually speaks english, made in the USA!!
