Blue's Bull Down

Friday I finally filled my branched bull tag, here is the story.
After not getting a shot at anything opening week, we made it back up to camp on Wednesday (11/4) night. The next day we went out and didnt see much, but the guys camping across from us said they have seen a 6x6 each night in the same clearing. We headed towards the clearing that evening and the bull was there feeding. It was about 1000 yards away and getting dark so we decided that we would go after it in the morning, plus my brother and his friend were coming up that night, so they would be able to help. The next day we head out early and hiked about a mile to a place where we could shoot at the clearing we were watching the night before. About an hour in we saw the elk about 375 yards away. I finally got a good rest and pulled the trigger. The elk didn't flinch! I shot again and it started running toward a grove of trees. I shot one more time and the elk moved into the grove of trees and stopped. We couldn't see the bull anymore but my brother could so we moved so I could get another shot. I got set up again and took another shot at it when he finally stood up. This time we could tell the elk's leg buckled when I shot and it moved about 20 yards into a thick group of trees and we could no longer see him. We waited and waited and he never stepped out of the trees, so we figured he had bedded down for good. After about a half hour my Dad and I decided we would hike over there and see if we could find him. It took a while but we finally made it to the clearing above where he was and as soon as we started towards the trees. So we busted around to where the elk was and once again we get close and he ran straight up the hill where he came from down into the bottom of the draw. We hiked to the last clearing above the bottom, when we got there we took a little rest then headed into the trees right where the elk went in. After about 20 yards we hear him crashing through the trees, so I threw my gun up and saw him go through the only little clearing this draw had, about 75 yards away. I pulled the trigger and he crumpled! I was so excited. When I got down to him immediately I knew it was the elk we were watching the night before. Another plus, was when we pushed him down the hill to the bottom of the draw, the body stopped 5 feet from a nice 5 pt elk shed! Here are the pictures.
