I've got a couple questions. Any directions on skinning techniques or how you want them? When do you want them? I'm sure I can round up a couple pretty quick.

Sivart33:  salt and eggs brings them from miles around
Woodywsu: skin them up the belly, chop off the feet, split the tail and lay out like a beaver.

It's actually illegal to sell/purchase in this state because porcupines aren't considered "wild animals". To see what animals are "wild animals" look at WAC 232-12-007

That only shows you "Game animals" and "fur bearers".  Porcupines, opossums, skunks, mountain beavers and others are considered "unclassified" and have no season or limits but are still considered "wildlife".

Scroll down to small game season.

bixtex please post the RCW or WAC that says porcupines are illegal to sell in the State of Washington.  The only WAC I can find that talks about the legal and illegal buying and selling of animals in Washington is:

WAC 232-12-071 Agency filings affecting this section
Buying or selling game unlawful — Game-farmed meat exception.

  (1) Unless prohibited by federal regulations, nonedible parts of wild animals, game birds or game fish lawfully taken may be offered for sale, sold, purchased or traded, except it is unlawful to offer for sale, sell, purchase or trade the following unless authorized by a written permit issued by the director:

     (a) Nonedible parts of bighorn sheep or mountain goat.

     (b) Velvet antlers of deer or elk.

     (c) Gall bladder, claws, or teeth of bear, except those claws or teeth permanently attached to a full bear skin or mounted bear.

     (2) It is unlawful to knowingly buy, sell, or otherwise exchange, or offer to buy, sell, or otherwise exchange the raw fur or carcass of a wild animal trapped in Washington with a body-gripping trap, whether or not pursuant to permit.

     (3) It is lawful to purchase and sell the meat of game-farm raised deer and elk, provided the meat is imported from a licensed game farm in another state or country, the meat is boned and only meat is imported for sale, and the meat is packaged for retail sale prior to import into this state. It is unlawful to fail to maintain proof of the source of the game-farmed meat together with the meat until the meat is consumed or exported

No need to shoot them, all you have to do is hit them in the head with a stick, you don't have to swing it like a club either, just a light tap on top of the head does the trick. I was amazed the first time I saw it done, I couldnot believe how light of a rap it took to kill a porky. Of course the porky knows this too, so he will roll his head down under his chest to protect it and span out the quills.
