Thanks again everybody for the help and suggestions. I think I have a few areas to check out. I was exploring the area in between Elbe and Morton, which is marked as Snoqualmie National Forest, on Google Earth and am seeing a couple of buildings deep in there. Is this logging facilities or residences?

I think I'll be driving down in the morning (apparently it's only 90 minutes from my house), so camping won't be a problem.

I know it's not a week in the Blues or Deer Park, but it's the best I can do with a 3-month-old at home :)

Good luck, there are deer there just need to look for them. Look for clear cuts would be best for early morning late evening. Have killed a lot of Blacktails doing that over the years.

Pleasant Valley Rd. is still closed.

FR 74 takes you into the NF lands, though there are several walk-in roads right off the highway that are timber company lands that are productive. Cross the Highway and it is Murray Pacific lands, all open to hunting.

Yep.  Pleasant valley is still washed out.  Wouldn't matter.  Not near the deer there used to be.  Can't put my finger on why, but they just aren't there.  Even the gated roads off 7 between mineral and morton don't hold the numbers like they should.  Not enough logging, cougars, and hair slip are some major factors.  Poaching may be the biggest culprit though.  My rig wouldn't even be warm by the time I got to where you are going and I haven't hunted deer one day this year.  Just isn't enough deer here to get excited about.  Probably why I've been going east for the last handful of years.  Good luck though.

Kris

Getting ready to head out Saturday and (hopefully won't be necessary) Sunday. Has anybody been up there yet? I'm assuming there's snow, but I'm wondering if anybody has any recent experiences up in this area?
