trophy black tail is the hardest one to get but there's no trophy deer that looks better to me than a big mulie.

I feel the same. But trophy Mulies are too common.

Too common?
hmmmm.....

I was thinking the same as well.  But then I guess we have to define the word "trophy" don't we?  And I voted Mulie.

Thats what I was thinking. Hmmmmm
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

Blacktail for sure. By far the most difficult mature buck to kill.

I have all three species on my wall and without a doubt, my big blacktail is the buck that I am most proud of and my favorite. He just misses making "State" book. I dream of the day when I'm able to harvest another BIG blackie. A BIG mature blacktail imo is the hardest deer trophy to harvest in this state.

I voted for the blacktail.  There's just something about em that makes me want to keep hunting them, they are a challenge I think that might be it.  I had a shot opening weekend of modern this year at a monster blacktail he honestly looked like a mule deer he was so big, so what do I do I pulled up fast to get a shot and squeeze the trigger and the safety was on  :'( oh well next year he will be bigger I guess

I finally got my first four point blacktail.  Last day of late buck, now i really want a trophy blackie. I know this is a terrible picture sorry, I will try for a better one and put it on the deer forum.  One thing about trying for the trophy's you all know is you have to pass up a lot of deer, some very nice ones to get a chance at the book deer.  I just couldn't pass this guy on the last day, so no book deer this year but it's been the best hunting year for me.  See you on the deer forum, thanks for participating in the poll, it's interesting seeing the results. I think most that hunt the west side understand the difficulty in getting a nice blacktail, I understand if I grew up on the east side why mulies would be my favorite, the blackies just look much smaller to them.

Like someone said before, there are few animals that are prettier and more majestic than a big old muley.  I like them all, it's too tough to decide!   :chuckle:
