Record moose shed?
« on: November 09, 2010, 11:33:34 AM »
A friend mentioned something about a potential state or world record moose shed found here in Washington not too long ago.  Anyone know anything about this or hear anything?

This is something he just saw last week, not sure how long ago it was found or if maybe he read it wrong.  It came off the internet though so it could just be bogus.  I'll keep doing some looking around and see if I can find anything about it.

After doing some checking, it looks like it was found in 07.  So it looks to be the current number 3 now.  Still pretty cool, I saw a moose last week that could very well be the next state record.  Now if I could just draw a damn tag!!

Those are the ones Shane(wa) said he found. So your saying that your dad worked with the guy who found them? Maybe shane(wa) was full of  :crap: after all.

No? Sure thought you did. Why the name change? I think it was something to do with you seeing 200" moose everyday and what not then you posted pics of the sheds "you" found. Could be wrong, if so, sorry but thats the way I remebered it.  :dunno:

ShaneWA got banned so he signed up with a new username.
 :dunno:

I'm pretty sure he never said he picked up those sheds. I remember the story the same as it's posted now.

Here is a big rack.  Probably a wolf kill or winter kill.  Seward Peninsula, Alaska 1981.  Found by a bush pilot and brought into the local airport hanger in Nome.  At the time they were saying it was a world record.  I don't really believe it but it is a monster.  That's me in my younger years holding it.
