Just back from montana deer hunt with another Hunt WA member. Tagged out in 2 days.
Processing meat, making jerky and sausage today so will post more pics later with a story.

Another view. I think he was 8-9 years old based upon his teeth. Really worn down. Also think the antler growth regressed a bit because of his age. Probably a really nice buck 2-3 years ago.

He really smelled from the rut and I ended up making sausage and jerky from him. He died chasing a hot doe. I guess there is no better way to go :chuckle:

We did some scouting before hand with maps and we had a local farmer out there help us out and point out general areas.
Would really help to get out and scout as there is a lot of country, private land, BLM, block management etc

Pulled the muley up from the  deep breaks near the water. Not fun

Drove up to the whitetail to retrieve. Near some coulees.

I'm shooting whitetails from now on, especially since I am getting older. Mule deer are too much work :chuckle:
