If they are up there, then its news to me.  Ive hunted it for 6 years with little to show for it (mostly just taking my gun for another walk through the woods).  I talked to one guy who had been moose hunting for 7 days and did not see an elk. Another hunted archery for 2 weeks and did not run into one either.  The thickest brush and deep draws yielded no elk sign whatsoever. Im beginning to wonder.

I saw 8,000 elk when I was scouting my disabled area last week in the 113. I'm not going though. I want all the elk hunters from out of the area to have a chance at those big, huge bulls I saw. Oh, I saw all these elk in one day.  :chuckle:
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

Agreed...definitely NO elk in the northeast! You have a better chance of seeing a squatch!

There really won't be if certain people continue to talk about the "explosion" of elk in the NE.  Oh well better the coasties get to them before the wolves do.
it isn't really a secret that there are some elk there and their numbers are increasing... you still have to put the work in to get to them and find them.  I am sure people aren't going to come flocking to your spot since huntnnw said the population exploded...

hahaha..holes on the ronde?? wow if u need holes to catch fish on that river  :chuckle: little different from a hole on a river as saying something about entire corner of the state!
I agree.  But I don't give out my high country fishing lakes or holes on the Grande Rhonde either.  Yes, no secret but helps keeps the pressure down.
