Reminder: ASK PERMISSION
« on: November 11, 2010, 06:10:38 PM »
Just thought I would share with everyone.  This evening I went to a spot that I have permission to hunt.  I spotted about 25 head with a small legal bull it was in the back corner of a swamp.  This is agricultural land so there is fences everywhere.  I decided to go to the people that I have permission from and verify the property lines.  They weren't home so I figured i would go to the neighbors to see if it was where I had permission ( there are not any "no trespassing" signs on any of the property).  The lady told me that it was her land and she has the Game Department and Sheriff on speed dial. She told me thanks for asking and I said "thanks for you time" and drove away.  Just a reminder to everyone to make sure you verify where you can and cant hunt.  Im glad I did the right thing and asked.

as a long suffering landowner living in the middle of elk country, I thank you for your considerate behavior.

yep always know property lines. land does not have to be posted. if it is fenced, always know what areas you can hunt. a lot of landowners that give perrmission to people. will take it away from people, that are not respectfull to other landowners. you did the right thing, kudos to you. it never hurts to ask.
