I have an AR15 in 243WSSM. But when I re-barrel it then I will go to the 25WSSM most likely. Are you going to use the Oly Arms upper or are you having Mike Milli from D-Tech build it? Mikes guns are absolutely the finest built uppers out there.

Mine is a 20" Oly Arms upper purchased used from a gun show, it has always functioned perfectly and accuracy has been excellent except for lately, I think the throat is going away or perhaps just copper fouled badly as my groups have opened to 1" to 1-1/2" where they used to be 1/2" and less at 100, but maybe it's just me too, eyes gettin' old :o

Now that I'm thinking about it, I haven't had it out in awhile, maybe I'll give it a good cleaning and check zero today for my next coyote trip.

Ive thought about the 243 but the 25 or even the 300 sounds a little better. Ive heard that the fouling can be a problem but they arnt barrel burns anymore then a 243win from what Ive seen people saying. Im thinking of getting an oly with the 24" tube.

That is correct about the barrel burner myth,  if you plan on shooting light bullets real fast under rapid fire conditions then you are going to create problems with advance throat erosion, otherwise, no big deal. I just loaded up and tested some 65gr V-Max bullets with RL15 powder and I'm getting 3/4" groups at 150 yards and 2" at 300 yards, although I have not speed checked them yet, they should be getting there around 3600 FPS.

I suppose it all depends on your use for it, the 25WSSM is a great caliber no doubt and easy to reload for. Certainly capable of taking all sorts of game and the 30 would do well for big deer and elk for sure.

My 243 and 95gr Noslers kill Mule deer with ease out to 300 yards, maybe more.

If you were to go with a D-Tech gun, Mike can contour the barrel to your needs or flute it to reduce some weight. His guns are very sweet shooters, just ask Big10Gauge he uses a couple of Mikes guns.

I too am interested in the 25 wssm in an AR.  What kind of magazines do they make for them, what kind of capacity?

A simple modification to a standard 20 round GI mag is all it takes, but now I hear some are using the Magpul P-Mags too.

The follower will need a little grinding and smoothing and the mag catch may need to be raised a very slight amount then they will hold 6 rounds of WSSM ammo but will not be usable for 223 ammo after the modification is done.

So I'm thinking the 85 noslers for the 25 would be good yote or cougar pills

I have a DTech in 25 WSSM.  I love it, antelope don't.  Shot my first buck this year at 483 yds with a Hornady 117 SST.  The bullet went in at an angle behind the front shoulder, took out one lung entirely, and nearly all of the other.  Also took all the liver except around one edge, and then exited right at the last rib.

Mine is fluted and has Mike's comp on it.  It shoots pretty well, but I'm still trying to find it's favorite load.  So far it seems to like 100 SMK's and the Hornady 117 SST's, in front of some 4350, either brand.  I've been slowly buying more (and more) types/weights of bullets and powder so I can try some other combinations.

I would like to shoot some coyotes with it, but every time I go, I pick up my "plastic" AR, and the DTech stays in the safe.  The "plastic" one is so light that it actually feels way heavier when I stick a mag in it!  I'm in the process right now of getting a 25 WSSM upper put together with polymer upper and a carbon fiber wrapped barrel, so I can have "plastic" 25 WSSM.

I think if you watch the classifieds at AR15.com, or Predator Masters, you should be able to find one in 25.  When I was shopping for mine, it seemed like the 243's went way quicker than the 25's.  Mine had actually been listed for a couple days before I saw it.  I've only had mine for a year, but so far I love it.

Ive noticed the wssm are hard to come by used and when you do they are gone fast or are to much $$$. Im just thinking of getting a new upper from oly unless I find a good deal
