Palouse WT buck late hunt
« on: November 15, 2010, 11:22:50 PM »
My son and I got to spend 3 days chasing whitetails around the Palouse last Thursday thru Saturday. We saw a couple of nice bucks the first day and one was a bruiser. The second and third day all we saw were does. On the last day hunting our way back to the truck to head for home we jump a couple deer and my son drops this nice last minute buck! Great way to end the season.

Congrats to your son on a great looking buck!
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

Friday it was very foggy, we didn't even start hunting till eleven o'clock. Saturday was very nice. I am in Spokane this morning looking out the window at a nice snow fall. Looks cold out there, glad I am inside drinking hot coffee. Not really, I would love to be out there hunting, I am so addicted, there must be some medicine for this.

Just got back from the Palouse. I took a guy out who has never killed a buck. It snowed a couple inches early this morning so that was nice to see. We hiked into an area, seeing a few does here and there. We then got set up in the middle of a big draw and we were there for about two minutes when a doe came by at 130 yards. She was acting kinda strange so I told Jake to watch behind her because she might be a hot doe. Ten seconds went by and a little 3x4 buck was walking in her tracks. Jake made a great shot at 130 yards and got his first buck 1 hr into the hunt. The only down side was after he shot two bigger bucks went trotting out of the draw. Oh well one buck on the ground is better then two in the field.  Will post pics later.
