Question. How long to you keep a spot?
« on: November 17, 2010, 09:13:47 AM »
I have had my camera out for almost a month now.  Have not got any animals on my camera.  Just pics of me and my buddies checking it.  I think I had it aimed too high to begin with and missed some critters because of that.  I had a bunch of apples that are all gone and not one picture.  I will be going back in a week or so and if I have nothing I think I will pull it and find a new spot.  How long would you stick it out before you pull it and move on?

If there was bait that is all gone and no pics I would wonder if it's working properly. Was there still bait after you adjusted the camera height but no bait last time you checked it? Something is eating the apples.

If I don't get pics (or see sign) within a couple weeks I move on. If I get photos I may leave it for a couple months.

I have not been back since I made the adjustment.  So I decided to leave it until next time.  I hope I will see something.  I had hoped to see some elk.  I have seen them in the area before.  Now that elk season is over I am sure they will show up.

It has still been fun to go out and check the camera.  I am even thinking about getting another..
