506 or 672
« on: November 18, 2010, 06:02:15 PM »
Never thought Id have to ask for information from people on this sight considering I find most of my own places to hunt and do my own research but I dont have much of a choice at this point. I had been planning on hunting mulies in the sinlahekin for the last month and a half but the guy I was going with pulled the plug today and said he couldnt go....2 days from when we were suppose leave. Im very dissapointed to say the least but none the less im still going hunting for something and have already bought all the grocerys and taken the time off to hunt so either way im going hunting come hell or high water. Im just scrambling to try and put a hunt together.
My question for you guys is if you know of any decent access points for these two units where I can find some gates to bike way back in? Im open to any other areas at this point also I just normally hunt 673 and these units are close by to that. Id appreciate ANY info at all. If not ill still be out there some where hittin hard cus theres no way im about to give up  :) pms welcome

Wish I could offer up some advice but I'm kinda in the same boat as you.  I've been thinkin about doing the 506 but don't know really where to go.  I do know that the Game Reports from last year for 506 and 530 pulled a decent amount of animals out of there.  I'm in the process of understanding just where a guy could go in those units.  I was thinking about 564 until it was pointed out to me that the Muzzleloader season overlaps that GMU.  I've hunted with my bow 1 time during any sort of rifle season and that was one time too many.  Worst case scenerio is we get out there, scout the heck out of it and find some new places to hunt.  That's my plan anyways.  Good luck to you in this late hunt  ;)

You can access either of those units right by Pe Ell. Go into Pe Ell, go to the Chevron (i think its chevron) station and purchase a weyerhauser map. It will tell you everyhting you need to know.
Best of luck. There are good access points within 15 miles of Pe Ell for either unit.
