Going Hunting
« on: November 20, 2010, 07:55:37 AM »
My first post on this site.  I am going chukar hunting around Anatone for the second time in about 8 years, used to hunt there alot.  The last time was in October, saw lots of birds, missed more than I shot as usual.  Had a great time.  Looking forward to this trip, leave tomorrow morning and returning home day before Thanksgiving.  Will do some pheasant hunting around Pomeroy also.  Saw tons of birds in October so looking forward to the pheasant hunting there.  My Wired Haired Griffon is 17 months old and doing pretty well, more birds for him the better.  I just hope the pass isn't too bad.

Driving should be OK. Take your time be prepared before you leave home and all will be good. Have a great FUn trip and be sure to post pics when you get  home.

Had a pretty good hunt.  One chukar and 4 huns on the way there.  mostly hunted pheasant, limited out one day, only got one the first day.  Weather was absolutely terrible, snowing hard then single digit temps and -4 in the morning.  Here is a pic of the dogs and the 9 chukar we got with one pheasant on Monday and limit of pheasant tuesday.

Good job. Man it can be tough bird hunting when conditions are like that.

Well done. Limiting out is quite an accomplishment
How did the dogs do in the cold?
