Good for you. You did all you could do. Assuming it was a responsible shot, no matter what weapon it just proves how vital a "vital" shot is. Nearly everybody has been there. You were using a Muzzleloader so I'm going to guess the distance wasn't that far? It's all relative of course. I have been troubled the last few years as I've seen these high powered rifles outfitted with scopes that are made for making ridiculous, long range shots. What's the fun in that? You didn't fool the animal, when a deer sees you from 500+ yards I think they should feel safe. There's even videos out now that highlight and teach this stuff. I think anything beyond 300yds is wrong.Personally, watching some fat guy climb out of a truck, set up his bipods on the hood of his truck, look at his chart, dial up his scope, pull the trigger and than give his fatter buddy a high five is a blackeye on hunting. These videos only show kill shots. Think of the misses or near misses that take off legs, etc. You think that kind of hunter is going to track his animal down? Sorry for the rant. Don't listen to some of these guys, sorry about the meat...you tried.
Why do guys ALWAYS make snide remarks about fat guys this, fat guys that ? I've seen allot of skinny little pieces of *censored* do the same thing. So why don't you layoff the fat guy crap and shove it up your skinny butt !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I wish we would have got this snow a couple days ago Could have made this hunt a lot different... I think if I can get the wife to sign off I will got back up there and work that draw for dogs Might have to take more than one gun, has to be lots of dogs in that area
