Youth bow?
« on: December 18, 2010, 11:37:57 AM »
Howdy
I am looking to buy my "almost" 11 year old daughter a "real" bow for her birthday next month.  I have no idea what would be a good one to look at or where to start.  She needs something that she can actually hunt with and grow into for a few years until it is time to step up with the big boys.  What are your ideas and experiences?
Thanks!

The Diamond Razor edge is fully adjustable from 19 - 29 inch draw length and from 30 - 60 #'s... and if that is too much to start with you can buy the 15-30# limbs for around $100 to go with it.  That bow comes with sight, rest and quiver for about $329.  There is also the Nuclear Ice which is a great bow to grow with.

Thank you, I will take a look at one.  Now my wife says that my daughter wants a muzzleloader instead.  Darn girls always changing their minds!   :chuckle:

Try the Mission Menace.  My 10 year old boy started with it.  The draw length is adjustable from about 18 in to 29 inches and the draw weight is adjustable from about 20 lbs to 50 lbs.  It is a bow that he will grow with instead of buying him a new bow each year.
Expect excellence, but don't require it!

Bought my daughter a razors edge last xmas. Shoots good for her and should be more bow than she will ever need. If she ever gets more serious I would upgrade but for now it works perfect. Easy to adjust as well. Buddy got one for his daughter as well.

I have a razor's edge and love it,  of course i'm an adult but only stand 5'3" so the bigger "adult" bows don't feel comfortable to me. I almost always have to buy a youth size that I can have adjusted to me. Another plus is it really lightweight so easy to pack around.
