At 41 I Shot My First Buck
« on: November 24, 2010, 05:44:45 PM »
First I need to thank RIBKA for putting up with me as I was very excited to be drawn for a Montana Deer Tag, especially seeing how it took us three years.  Even though he owes me big time for posting that stupid What What in my Butt Butt video.  I am still rethinking our friendship.  Anyways, I shot my first buck in Montana.  We were hitting some fingers and glassing draws and caught about five muley does coming up out of a draw and behind them was a big 4X4 buck.  Before anyone could get on him they were up and over the finger.  We pushed on and split up for the next set of fingers.  As I approached my finger, I low crawled up to the edge and caught my boy bedded down about 200 yards away.  One shot and he just rolled over and the dream he was having about the does he was doing to do the nasty with was over.

The next day RIBKA shot a really nice white tail buck and he stopped whining.

I have seen some threads on here about wether or not to buy the non resident tag since the increase of $200, I would go back every year just to experience Montana.

nice bucks! Isn't it funny how a guy can get drawn for a great out of state hunt in just 3 years for Montana, Colorado, or wherever, but here in our home state it takes 10-12+ years? Why is that???

Dude you booked a hotel room for the hunt with ONE BED :yike:
Thank god they had an extra air mattress in the hotel for me to sleep on. I told you I was a happily married man.

The "what what" video is tame in comparison :chuckle:

Congrats. Fun watching you shoot that buck. I remember hearing the shot and looking at you running in circles because you were so excited. I was yelling at you to keep your eyes on your deer in case he gets up and runs away down into the bottom of that deep break.  :chuckle: Thank god you made a good or I should say "lucky" shot ;).

Anyways congrats and you earned it. You were fortunate that you had such a talented guide ( me) on your trip 8)
