I didnt get a buck but at least I have some meat in the freezer. Saw a group of does from probably about a mile away so my dad and I double timed it to where they were headed. We werent able to get as close as I would have liked. I ranged the closest one at 186 yards and they were headed away from us. I only practiced out to 100 yards. My dad said to aim for the head (the front bead took up the whole thing). Fired away and heard a crack. The deer were standing on a rock mesa and I thought I hit the rock under it. Hiked up to where it was and could hardly believe it when I saw her piled up. I was shooting a Knight Bighorn, 110 grains pyrodex, and a 300 grain Hornaday SST in the Easy load version. The shot was from head on and the bullet went clean through the heart and out the back leg.
