Last year my buddy got beauitful buck late season and he cut two Different cougars with one most fresh blood dragging deer kill by one cougar.  Then He went this year. He could have pick three different nice buck but not what he is looking.  Also he crossed a bigger cougar trax than his hand. Supposed be 150 or above.  Hope cat permittee go up and kill it to save some deer for next years.

I live in the Mission, look at Swakane out my front door.  Haven't hunted it for a few years now, love the unit but can't stand the rude, unsportsmanlike a-holes and am tired of watching "fling and a prayer" shots.

I've met some great hunters in the field during that season, too - but the dregs of the archery ranks are far too prevalent.  Spend a few days in the Swakane during late archery, and it is easy to believe that a sizeable portion of the felons forced to hunt with archery head to the Swakane.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

That is a fair assessment.  Reason I haven't hunted it the last 2 seasons.  Much more peaceful in September.

I also live in the Mission unit and have the Swakane right across the river from me.  Sure wish we could go to permit only for late mule deer archery.

If the game dept was smart they would open up a bunch of units to spread  out the guys to make a more quality hunt...........But we all know how smart they are...... :P
