Weekend Hunt
« on: November 29, 2010, 08:23:05 AM »
Logged back on and saw the pics 509er and stickslinger are sharing and it got me all excited again.....

Had a great weekend once again although the drive Friday night/Saturday morning sucked ass.  It was a total whiteout and I was driving by the reflectors on the side of the road trying not to fall into a trance caused by the snow.  Just makes for a better story, right?

First off, boneaddict is curious to what kind of buck I have in mind.  Great question and I don't have a great answer!  It's definitely not score although it would make my chest stick out a little farther if I could tell people there is 200' hanging on my wall.  But, to be honest, it's more about the "look" of the buck.  I haven't seen it so I can't tell you what it is.  I can tell you I won't shoot anything less than a pig in November.  Not because I am Buck greedy but I am memory greedy.  I would rather have a picture like the ones shown and shoot a 170' on the last day than shoot a great buck in Nov.  This is way too much fun and I don't want to be sitting home over the next month especially knowing I'm not going to win this raffle again.   I've met some great guys, seen some beautiful country and seen a boat load of deer.  Doesn't get any better than that.....

The hunt was great.  Weather cleared and we had phenomenal visibility.  Outside of Stickslinger running into rocks and about putting us over a cliff it was a perfect day.  We probably saw 50 deer, 12-15 bucks with the largest being the photo posted by 509er.  It was hilarious hearing these guys create their shed strategy and game plan for spring coyotes.  Pure entertainment.....

I thought slinger was going to bail out of the truck and let you and I have a ghost ride to the bottom of the canyon.  I am pretty sure his drivers side seat cover is missing a chunk of frabric.   ;)   :chuckle:
I've hunted almost everyday of my life, the rest have been wasted.

Entertaining like an episode of Rin and Stimpy I am sure.  Now we just need to figure out which is Rin and which is Stimpy.  :chuckle:
