First coyote with a hand gun
« on: November 25, 2010, 01:44:03 PM »
So today I managed to get a coyote at 20yds with my xd 45. I drove in to make a stand and as I was getting ready to get out of my truck a saw a yote 20yds away in the sage. I jumped out pull my pistol and shot. The whole time the yote was just looking at me funny. Well when I shot he disappered and I caught movement to the right as four more ran away up a hill. I scambled and got the 243 out and shot another then missed the last three. Well I have to say a 230gr pdx1 is nasty on coyotes is knocked the yote into a bush and tore it up pretty good.

That is exciting, getting one with a pistol. I put a red dot on my old revolver that I used to compete with, eyes are not as good as they once were. I was planning on using it for close  up coyotes. You are getting me thinking about taking it out with me now. Nice shooting!
May you have a target rich environment!

Very cool - I have been thinking about trying that instead of a shotgun. I've been getting them to come inside 15yds lately. That may even be close enough for ME to hit one! Not like the damn beer bottles that jump all over the place! :chuckle:
I aint superstitious - cuz its bad luck!
