Finally Saw a Buck in 663
« on: November 22, 2010, 12:11:47 PM »
It was yesterday morning, about 6:20.  The guy in front of me had just stopped, and proceeded to walk back and get my opinion.  He wanted to shoot it real bad. :o  I told him he needed to wait until 6:50 and that it looked like a decoy. :dunno:  At that time, a rig had also pulled up behind me.  That's when we were directed to "move on by" from a voice in the darkness. :chuckle:  Anyone know how many they nailed?

I know that during regular season they got at least one, who shot at it after dark and then got into a persuit with game department and county deputies. They ended up catching the person and took everything..........

Couldn't tell because I was too far back.  I knew something was up though.  Still trying to figure out if that guy was part of the operation.  I wonder if they ever do that, have a plant on the road in front of you that tries to talk you into shooting at it.

A few years back we came across a stuffy.  Figured it was a decoy and moved down the road a half mile or so and watched as another rig shot at it.  The forest lit up with lights and no less than 3 cars came out of nowhere.  Big loud speakers and all kinds of racket.  They continued get poacher after poacher that evening and finally came down requiring us to leave, I imagine they got tired of hearing our laughter.  This was just outside of Vancouver by that minimum security prison.  One road in one road out so it was a perfect set up.
It's a TIKKA thing..., you may not understand.

PG, I am sure it is the same one.  I have seen it twice, it is a huge 3 point.  It would tempt many people given the size of the horns.  The second time I saw it, I actually caught the F&G setting it up.  It had one of those dead deer faces, that is obvious if you can take your eyes off the antlers.   :o
