Quick Response: E-Caller
« on: November 26, 2010, 07:04:11 PM »
I'm at cabalas and was going to pick up an e-caller.

Had my eyes on the Spitfire, but noticed the Power Dogg was onsale for $100.

Now with the price difference I can't decide.

Any experience with Power Dogg??

I just got a spitfire this year.  It is a great call so far.  Only holds 24 sounds but it has a micro SD card slot so you can have multiple cards and have as many sounds as you like.  You can use Foxpro sounds, MP3's and .wav's.

The power dog comes with only 12 sounds that cant be changed and almost all the reviews I have heard were bad.

The power dog is ok my brother inlaw and I have killed some yotes with it this biggest problem is volume. Full volume on a power dogg is about half power on a foxpro. I know everyone will say volume is not the most imortant thing but you just can't hear the power dogg.  :twocents:

Thats not the biggest problem. The biggest problem is the sounds that you are provided with and the fact that you cant change them or add to them. Low volume is ok being stuck with snow goose sounds is not.

Nice price.  My only problem with the Spitfire is the volume control.  The difference between level 4 and 5 is a lot.  4 is not always loud enough and 5 is just about overdriving the speaker.  On my MP3 sounds I lower the volume slightly so that five is just right but I cant do that with the foxpro sounds.  For all the options and price it is an awesome unit though.

spit fire. my dad just picked me up one at cabelas back home in indiana. the crazy thing is he put me on the phone with one of the guys who helped design em! Guess he was doing some kind of event there. Real nice guy, told my father if he ever needed any sounds or had any issues to call him or his brother. With people that care that much about there product i am sold. :twocents:
