Finally put a scope on my 788
I added a Redfield one piece scope rail, Leupold rings and topped it off with a Burris Fullfield II scope

Nice looking rifle. Love the 788. My dad and I both have 788's in .308. It was my first hunting rifle 24 years ago and I took my a nubbin blacktail with it that first year. My dad has the carbine also and has redone his stock. Mine has the 22" barrel with a monte carlo stock. Shoots like a bandit, although since I haven't had time to shoot it this year I will be borrowing my old mans 788 to go after whitetails in NE WA.

Yep, mine has the same problem, I didn't know if was from the low rings or not, but it doesn't do it ejecting live rounds.

Mine doesn't. It is in .308. Live rounds or not.
