So please tell me you boys were packin heat on the haul out mission.   :dunno:
Too many fangs running around those hills these days not to :twocents:  A buddy from here at work took a good bull somewhere South of Missoula and went to retrieve it the next day.  He just took a pack and a knife, no lead driver.  Lucky for him the bear that found the elk overnight was not still there when he reached it, or I think he may have been an horsd'oeuvre. :yike:

I would say wolfs would be the big concern this late in the season though, especially after some of the other threads I've seen.  Right Bone?
May that for which I prepare never come to pass.

I wasn't the least bit concerned with the Griz, but was a little worried the wolves might have found it that night. They didn't. I doubt they'd be aggressive over it anyways, BUT...with that said, we did pack the iron in.... JUST in case!

Incredible bull, congrats, It's nice to see hard work pay off once in awhile. Stories like that keep all us tag-eaters going.

Ok, now that the skull is actually "final" clean and on an official scale, the rack weighs 32#...not the 37 that I was dreaming up!  :dunno:

Ya, pretty soon you'll be telling us it was a 340 bull instead of a 380.   :chuckle:
