Whats he score?
« on: November 27, 2010, 08:53:50 PM »
Ok guys what is this bucks gross score?  How wide outside?  He is a 4x5 plus brows, the whitetail looking side is the five point side.
I've hunted almost everyday of my life, the rest have been wasted.

I can't tell what he has on his right side.   :dunno:  But he looks wide.  I wouldn't be suprised if he's 30".

the pics from the rear look 30 but not likely. The pic from the front tells me a nice 26" wide

aren't they around 23" on a deer this size eartip to eartip?

got to be 3" past ears on each side minimum?

total guess, but 29+ wide and gross score of 170....

but i'm usually wrong on mule deer

He's pretty wide 27-28". But I can't get much more than about 65" on his left side. Cant see the other side very well, so I'm going to say he's about a 160" buck.

Just wait about three months. Then you can find out the score for sure when Shad has his sheds. :P Nice pics too!

Thanks for sharing 509er.......Was a cool buck and fun to watch.

For the record, I didn't even put him in my crosshairs.   :bdid:

A wise man told me a long time ago to avoid situations you can't control.  Deer in crosshairs make the mind play tricks.  That buck would look 190' inside my scope.....

My measurements.
28 outside.
inside 25 but you get 23 for longest main beam
     R      L
MB 23 - 23
g1- 4  -  4
g2- 15 - 13
g3- 4  -  0
g4 - 7  -  10
h1  - 4.25 - 4.25
h2 - 4 - 4
h3-  3.25 - 3.25
h4 - 3.25 - 3.5
total  67.75  -  65

extras  3 @ 2 total = 5

Right side      67.75
left side        65
inside spread 23
extras           5
Total Gross 160 6/8

Im probably a little short on a few tine lengths and will say it may go as high as 165 gross. Thats what I see?

I can only see the first two pics on my work computer, but from what I see I'd call him a 170" buck... :dunno:
He looks 30" in the one running away (but then again, ALL big muleys look 30" when they are running away with their ears pinned back like that...), but I am gonna guess he's actually about 27" wide.
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
