Buckeyeman i think is on to the issue.. My Chessie was the runt and still has food agression issues, but he is not the race eater he once was... I just give him a full bowl, and after he ate too much a few times and i left him alone he realized that there will alwasy be food... After I had my neighbors watch him with thier 2 labs he was a speed eater again for a while, but slowed back down...  :twocents:
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

I hope so because she still finishes her food but it is just alot slower. Sometimes it takes a minute or two for her to even start eating it. I would be worried if she was losing energy or seemed different but she is still the fun loving, energetic pup that she has always been.

Hopefully she is slowing down her growth and doesn't feel the need to inhale her food.  If everything else is good I would consider it a good thing.  Maybe she won't be the dog that swallows anything.  Labs are known for that.  Did you see the one on TV that ate $400.00 worth of money.  They took it to the vet and had him vomit it all out.  All the money was accounted for and washed for use again.

I didn't see it but that is pretty crazy. She likes to do the normal puppy things and chew on stuff but she doesn't really eat it. She does like to eat the elk crap in our yard but what puppy wouldn't?

I have a black lab pup that is almost 8 months old. For the past month or so, she doesn't seem to have the desire to chow down on her food like she used to. For the first few months I had her, she was a chow hound and would eat her food so fast that I was surprised she didn't choke. Now when I put her food down, she looks at it for a minute then slowly starts eating it and it takes her alot longer to finish. Any ideas as to why?  :dunno:

They are just like kids.If they're growing they'll eat everything in site.If not,may not eat much.
I never worried until they stopped drinking water. Then you know there's a problem.
