Close Chester, but it doesn't have anything to do with a bird being captured more than once. A reward band is just an incentive like you said, to get the shooter to report the info. Some banding operations will put a reward band on every other adult bird they capture while others may just do it randomly. But, it is always a mature, adult bird.If you guys ever want to learn more about banding, Tracy Hames with the Yakama Nation Wildlife Dept is always accepting volunteers to help with his duck banding in July and Aug around Toppenish. Bring waders, water and lots of bug spray! But it can be a really fun activity for parents and kids alike. You can look at it on their website or give them a call.
