I had him about 29.  Just wishful thinking on him.  He was a cool deer.   I got damn near close enough to measure him myself.   I thought maybe his flare made it.  Its always hard to tell in pics, but he was a large deer.  I should have taken pics of his tracks.  Looked like an elk.

On the actual outside of the flares you might be real close. Just a great series. I admire the incredible investment in time and money to get these types of shots.

Hes also banging around 32.5-33

probably 21 inch ears.   21/28=.75x44=33   My measurement isn't absolutely clear.  .75x43=32.25

What's truly amazing about this deer is the fact that he is most likely sporting a true 30" spread. By that I mean a true 30" inside spread on the main beams which is how he would be measured for B&C. A lot of the 30+ deer you see are called that because they have flares or some non-typical points that will get them out there on an OUTSIDE spread measurement. If you captured this photo, congratulations, a stellar achievement and trophy all by its self.

I bet he is almost 30 inside.  Probably a rarity where the main was the limitiing factor on spread credit.

He'll go 30" if he's 24" tip to tip on his ears.  His G4's flare all the way out and that's where you get the outside spread measurement.  Love that rack.  The CDOW has a typical 3x3 that makes B&C in the main office.  Ever since I saw that mount I've wanted a huge 3.  Still do.  Maybe someday...
