carrying ur bow on ur pack

Just kinda wondering how safe it is to strap ur bow to ur pack. I have a badlands 2200 and hunting in the nile goin through some possible rough terrain tomorrow bout a mile in. What do u guys think

both my hunting buddy and I use Eberlestock packs with quick release just for that reason.  Hiking through thick brush and steep terrain sure is nice when you can use both hands.

I have a bow back pack  , it holds both a rifle and or a bow..i pack it around all the time in there no problems, my bro uses a bow sling never had a problem..

I have the 2800 and have strapped the bow on for packing in on a well used trail with no problems.  I have not beat the brush with the bow on the pack.

I've done it on the back of a Superday pack.  It works ok but the bottom wheel/cam hangs down and if you fall on your ass or take the pack off and put it straight on the ground it can get smacked.

My buddy made a dent in his cam when he took off his pack and set it down right on a rock.  As long as you're aware of that it should be fine.  I've never had an incident personally.

The 2200 was made for it - happy hiking!  Just be careful removing your pack so you don't crunch a cam on rocks, etc. not that I've ever done it or anything

I've got a Black's Creek Alaskan huntin pack and the bow carrier is pretty nice. Like already stated, be aware of your bow when you take your pack off.

I have a BL 2800 and have strapped my bow to my pack to many times to count!  Works like a charm especially for those long hikes in..  Your 2200 will work just fine - strap it on and go cover some ground!  Just make sure you don't strap it over the strings as it may rub the strings.. Try and strap just the riser down.

i have a 2800 do it all the time, i would rather have it on my back while climbing rough terrain than slamming it down with one of my hands if i fall.
