They are collaring in about the same spot Rubbles.  I was there when you were running up there and ran into them.  They were running sleds in a no snowmobile zone.   I believe I was looking for deer for 300 on here when he had his raffle tag.

I was watching a huge buck and trying to get a pic for 300 and here comes a group of sleds.  Turned out to be game department.

Awesome photos!!!!!!!  Amazing story, I WILL call WDFW tomorrow to voice my disgust and displeasure.  I will make a few calls tomorrow.  Probably get lip service, just like always.  This really ticks me off.   :bash:

Your exactly right Bone....that was the spot.  They were even discouraging us from running any of the bordering roads and advised us not to let out on a track because it was a "muledeer sanctuary, no sleds, no hunting, period".  But, I guess its alright for the biologist and his two local guys to run sleds in there and put out on the cat so they can collar it.

If I remember right, there were two sets of bio's running hounds while I was there.  Ended up moving to another part of the unit.....too crowded.

Gave some info to Mulehunter, but have to get my lion hunt file from work to get names/specifics.

One of the cats killed this last week was from that project I guess.  Probably why they are so hot to collar another cat.

If I was to shoot a cat with a collar on it in that area after all the crap with those A$$$hole bio's, I'd be tempted to cut the collar off, write a nice little love note with plenty of flowery verbage, leave that with the collar, and let them track down the damn thing.  Why not even leave a trail cam nearby to document the jerks?
It would have been real hard for me to walk away from mulehunters situation.  He's a better man then me for his actions.  Something like that is illegal for all of us to do, it's called hunter harrasment, so why didn't the gamewarden fine those guys?  Oh yeh, the same reason most any law enforcement can get away with other things I guess.  Too bad he didn't get their names.  But the gammie has them so why should we trust gamewardens if they let crap like that walk?   Yeh I'mventing, this just makes me real mad.  Those guys are in reality our employees, we pay their salary.  OK, I'll stop now.

Goodluck Mulehunter, go get your big tom.

It's really too bad about the "jerks". I'm sure nothing will happen.  :bash:

Good Luck! Looks like a lot of fun.

It appears this once beneficial collaring program has met it's goals and needs to be ended.  With the economic crunch this is one of those programs that needs to vanish.  It has created a thug group that have become arrogant and are allowed to break nearly any law they want.  They can hunt all year, snomachine in no snomobile areas, go behind locked gates, buy no license, put in for no draws, use game dept. gasoline, radios and a multiple list of costly devices that have retained plenty of data over the years.  What has come of this data that is a benefit?  Now this group of individuals have been given free reign long enough they have become arrogant and are pointing fingers, screaming in the faces and calling the sportsmen expletives to their faces with no repremand from the WDFW.  When they see the houndsman they feel like they are looking at competition and run him off.   Any houndsman would love to get to be one of these guys but when it comes to this group given the ability and right to protect certain cougars from the lucky winner of a cougar drawing it's gone too far.  If we start calling our legislators and recommend they end this program we can get it stopped and save the state money plus eliminate the intimidation this thug group has developed towards their fellow houndsmen.  Back in the good old days if an officer or anyone wearing WDFW insignia on their lapel was to call anyone a demeaning or vulgar name they would have been dismissed immediately.  In Scotts case he went back to the same area the next day to chase the big tom he was run off of and they had 5 vehicles covering the area so Scott felt intimidated and just turned around and left.  Evidently this thug group was encouraged the continue the arrogant course they have developed.   Call your legislators.  They are looking for ways to save the state money and this one would be a benefit to everybody except the arrogant group it would eliminate.

You have to embrace the mob mentality on here!! Let's get a rope and hang em!!

I was always told there are 2 sides to any story and so far we have only heard one side. I think most folks attitude are reflective of the attitude presented to them! That also includes law enforcement. Maybe some of you who are in law could share or have some input on that.
