Well of work n gettin ready to go up. Yesterday I was walkin on the ridge following snow mobile tracks then was bout to lost cow call noticed something tan to my right. Bring up the binocs and it was a elks butt 2 of em feeding. I was 45yrds so I was nervous n could barely unhook my bow sling finally did then I was stuck wth my pack on so I procided to knock a arrow n stalk closer. Reason for that I had a fallen down tree and a small pine wth twigs blocking any shot of angle. So I slowly moved closer bout 35yrds now right hand tweakin out kinda hearin the arrow bangin on my rest, mouth open can hear my heart beat. I procided to stop now I got the option to stay an let her walk in my lane or take one more step n make it. I took one step and eitherthey heard me or smelled me :bash:.. sooo close ugh. Then when I was settin up for a buck I saw a few days ago, I crunched on hard snow and a small herd of elk busted out of the trees n this bowl I was above fml...
