1911 Grip
« on: December 01, 2010, 06:06:01 PM »
Hello everyone,
I just bought a springfield 1911 45 GI and I was wondering if you guys new of a place to get new grips for it? I am looking for a dark grey color in something that isn't too spendy. I want quality but don't want to spend too much at the same time. Which brings me to my next question.... How much do I need to spend to get quality grips? Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks
LL

Go here for starters:  http://forums.1911forum.com/ .  Simply googling "1911 grips" will bring up lots of options.

I really like the Hogue grip I out on my Officer model Colt.  It isn't great to look at, but it is very functional.

Nothing witty here.... move along.

Wilson combat makes some awesome ones but you'll be in 60 bucks give or take.

I have some (almost) black takeoffs from a Kimber...They call them black but they don't look completely black to me.

What do you use the gun for?  I went with houge thin grips for my carry 1911 combat model.  They cost $15 bucks, but have a tacky non-slip finish, that is also comfortable against bare skin if I am carrying in the summer.  I'm going to get a set for my Beretta 96 as well.
