Successful deer hunts, Public or private?
« on: December 06, 2010, 02:59:29 PM »
I got mine this year on private land.
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

Public Lands, we just wait for the deer to be pushed off the private ranches and out onto the state lands.

Public for the majority.  For the most part the bigger deer are on difficult and physically challenging to reach public lands as the private lands are easy access to hunt and get pressure for the most part.

Exceptions are the breaks and some others but for the most part hit national forest deeeeeeeep.
It's a TIKKA thing..., you may not understand.

The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong in the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.

Public. I've never gotten the chance to hunt on good, quality land. Not to say I wouldn't jump at the chance!
