Fellow Taxidermist WARNING MUST READ!
« on: December 06, 2010, 10:40:31 PM »
Hello all, I received a phone call from a friend tonight warning me that a Taxidermist stole 19 of my web-site pictures off my web-site and put them on theirs.  This low-life piece of #$%& calls himself "Simon's Taxidermy" with a web-site of http://www.simonstaxidermy.com/  He has a mammal gallery section and waterfowl gallery section.  You might want to visit his web-site and see if any of your photo's have been stolen like mine were.

I can't believe that someone would stoop this low as to steal pictures of someones hard work and portray it as his own.  Damn that makes me mad!!!! >:( >:(  Thouight I would let my fellow Taxidermists know.  Let me know what you find out after you visit "his so called" web-site.  Thanks.  John

John, he's got pictures from Birdman Studios (http://birdmanstudios.com/index.html) on his site also.  You may want to contact him.

On the bright side, you are getting grouped in with some other great taxidermists.

I bet this isn't the first time. He probably stole your pictures because you guys/gals do it the best in the northwest. Besides, he's from California, right !!! He's probably stolen all of those mount pictures from othersites too. Maybe his picture should be MOUNTED as well.

That is the ultimate compliment! What a *censored* way of saying "great work". It would be fun to mess with the guy some first before blowing his cover. Someone should pose as a big shot from Cabelas and make some bogus order for thirty or so animals :chuckle: Get the guy to fly somewhere for a fake meeting :chuckle:

Yeah, I was expecting to see some of my buddy Luke's stuff from Blackwater up on his site. I'm still going to give him a heads up.

Hi all, sorry for the late response, I have been gone all day.  I tried calling this person this morning and it went to voice mail.  Let's just say I left quite a voice mail.  I can't wait to be able to talk with him.  Joe, I still have all my work gear I need to take that ride with you if you know what I mean. :chuckle:  Muleysniper, I think your onto something there.  Can you make the meeting over in our neck fo the woods and we can teach the Californian how we do it here in the NW.

Thanks for all the support everyone, and I'll keep you posted on the progress of this mess.  Talk with you all soon.

John

Did he copied them to his own site archive or did he just steal the link to them? If he stole the link then we can put other photos up in their place.

A few of you may remember a couple years ago when a guy at the backcountryhunting site stole the link to a sig bar image of mine. I replaced the photo with this.

He didn't notice it for a week or so and he was posting daily. It went under all of his new and old posts. :chuckle:
He eventually removed my link.

Yep.
Right click on the photo. Click properties. Then you can read the web address.

Correct. If he copied the photo and put it in his own folders on his own host then it can't be changed they way I did it before.

Simon Romero
 Norco, CA 92860

(951) 340-9417

This may be his home phone info.  I looked him up on superpages, and his name hit as the only one in norco cali  tied under landscaping consulting , supplies, and planning.

He may be wearing quite a few hats as a fraud.

Or it's a different guy..

Looked on facebook couldnt find anything.  Lots of Simon Romeros but not in cali mostly brazil..

Well it looks like the pressure finally got to this weasel.  I checked last night and he took everything off his web-site.  The only thing that shows when you log onto his web-site is a picture of a fish and his name.  I still have not been able to talk to him yet.  I call his phone several times a day and it is still full of messages.  At least my photo's are off there.  John
