Good luck on your next hunt and kudo for not taking an unethical shot at your bull.  Next year!?!

Yeah, tag soup is quite bitter. :'( But just like anybody who eats there tag, you try to look at the positives of the hunt.  I don't regret passing on the first bull, the first couple hours of the hunt because I would have missed out on so much.  Through this hunt I met some truly great people.  6X6 is one of them, another is a guy who without ever meeting me, took me up on snow mobiles and showed me some amazing country without expecting anything in return.  I know where I will try and get my first cougar, turkey hunt and when I get drawn again, a bull.  I also had a great time with friends and family.  Next time I will spend a lot more time with my muzzle loader and practice shots out to 200 yards so when the opportunity presents itself I will have the confidence to make the shot.  I had too many variables for me to pull the trigger on the second to last day.  200 yards, broadside with a little brush/thickets, and only practiced out to 100 yards, made the shot unethical to me so I chose not to pull the trigger.  I do have a picture cemented in my head of that bull.  Not sure if that is good or not.  A funny thing happened on Saturday.  I got a call from a warden, he asked me if I wanted money or points.  I had turned in a guy that took a deer illegally.  Of course I said points, he then asked if I wanted them to go towards deer or elk?  Without hesitation I said elk.  Maybe my karma was built up by not launching one at that elk???  Anyway, not sure when I will be hunting bulls in the Teanaway again, but it may be sooner than expected.
:rockin: Good job in turning the SOB in.
:yeah: :yeah: :brew:
