I bought two dogs...to hunt sheds...didn't work out.

I read a big article on a company that trains them in the midwest.....I'll see if I can find if for ya.....

I'm all for people using dogs to find sheds but by far the best part of shed hunting, for me, is spotting them.

Spotting them in my Labrador's mouth would be even more exciting to me... (because they will hardly retrieve anything outside of water).

no need to look for a dog from a kennel that trains them....the greatest limitation to a dogs ability to learn, is the owners ability to teach....any "hunting" breed (or dog with desire to hunt) will work just fine, you just have to be willing to train and get excited about, and the dog will too...make it fun, that's how ours learned, and he brought back 58 last season....
