Colockum Rifle Permit Bull
« on: December 09, 2010, 12:19:04 PM »
A buddy took this picture of a Colockum Rifle tag permit holder's bull as they were just getting it to the truck.  The story he told me was that the tag holder was a 62 year old lady.  Her sons had done a ton of scouting and had several bulls located for her, but when the season rolled around the bulls disappeared.  They were glassing an area from a road and a tribal hunter stopped to chat.  He ended up telling them about this bull saying that he would try to hunt it once it gets to a easier area but that they were welcome to go after it in the deep dark hole it was in then.  My buddy said it was a 390" bull and it took a full day just to get one load to the truck.

Must've been one of those that migrated from the Blues.  Hadn't seen it on here yet, so I thought I'd throw it out.

Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!

Yep,I know her, she used to work with my mother, she is from Moses Lake.
I've hunted almost everyday of my life, the rest have been wasted.

From the local paper.

I got him on the 13th day of my hunt in the Colockum.  Didn't get back to camp until almost midnight the day I got him and took another trip out the next morning.  Got him at 400 yards with a 30-06. Way to go Judy! Nice bull. More on this hunt next week. During the wait, think about how to get such a critter out of the field.

that is a great bull but not sure about the 390 score i know who cares bout score but the pic with her in it, the 2nd and the 3rd pts are way to short for a main frame 6pt to be a 390! 360 maybe definately a wall hanger!!! congrats!!

Dandy bull!  Congrats to her on what sounds to have been a great hunt.  Nice to see that somebody with a little ambition end up with that trophy other than.......well you know.  You don't see a lot of those bigger "V" framed bulls here in WA like you do in other states.

I don't see 390, but I see a super nice bull from the Colockum. Glad to see a big bull harvested from the Colockum legally.  :stirthepot:

Todd why are you such a liar.  >:(  We both know that bull couldn't have come come from the Colockum since there are no bulls in the Colockum. We both know that bull came from the Blues. Bulls like this one are a dime a dozen in the Blues. You Blue Mountain Mafia guys might fool the other people on this site but I'm on to your groups strategy. Ill expose you yet.

OOOOOHHHHH YES there are.  And they are ALL in the Colockum.  If you have points, you should be putting in for the Colockum.  This thread PROVES IT.  Remember...COLOCKUM.  Make sure you spell it right on your applications....COLOCKUM.

Good for her BTW.  That's a great bull.  I don't think I see 390 either, but I'll be he goes near 380.

Really?  Because I have photo evidence that sasquatch has eaten all of the elk in the Blues.  What have you got...?

And Colockum.  The Colockum is the best unit in the Blue Mountains to apply for...  Most of the other Blue Mountain Unit's trophy quality has suffered, but the Colockum is still holding good bulls...  Colockum is in the western Blues... :twocents:
