that would depend on why you are hunting them. if hunting for furs it would be the bigger top one. if hunting to reduce the population, then the smaller bottom one hopeing it is the female. if just for fun, then the top one just because hes bigger.

shoot the top one first then focus on the second. I figure taking the further one would leave me a chance to get the closer one while he is still in range.
if their both looking at you, take the top dog first. The lower dog won't see the top dog get hit and won't know what happened and which way to run. Hit the lower dog first, and the top dog will see exactly what happened because he was looking that way and could see the lower dog get hit.Same thing with shooting birds; hit the back ones first. hit the front ones first and the whole flock scatters. hit the back ones first, and the ones in the front don't even know whats going on.
